Chapter 2: The Script is Everything
After finishing her audiobook and having a good cry, Rose suddenly fixed a hateful glare on me.
“If it weren’t for you,” she spat, clutching her coughing chest and touching her flat stomach, “he would have regretted everything because I was sick.”
She continued, “Heaven gave me this second chance to claim the most precious love in the world. If you try to stop me this time, I’ll make you disappear from this city. A leftover, unwanted woman like you could never understand a CEO’s devotion.”
Mom urged her to eat and stop her crazy talk. Rose slammed her bowl down, stormed to her room to pack a bag, and ran away from home.
I knew she was trying to avoid me, afraid I’d ruin her pursuit of “love.”
Little did she know, I wouldn’t just stand aside. I would help her follow the plot all the way to its tragic conclusion, making her the true “dead female lead.”
