Chapter 11: Coming Home

The summer passed in a blur of writing, reading, and reflection. Sarah returned to Blackwood for her final year with a renewed sense of purpose and a manuscript half-written.

"Paris changed you," Emma observed when they reunited at the campus gates.

"Paris opened my eyes," Sarah corrected. "But Blackwood is where I learned to see."

The final year at Blackwood was bittersweet. Sarah threw herself into her studies and her writing with renewed vigor, determined to make the most of every remaining moment. She became editor of the school newspaper, mentored younger students in the writing club, and completed her manuscript.

Michael, who had been accepted to medical school, spent as much time with Sarah as possible. They both knew that their paths would diverge after graduation, but they were determined to make their relationship work.

"We'll figure it out," Michael assured her. "Love finds a way."

Sarah nodded, though the thought of leaving him made her heart ache. Blackwood had given her so much — her passion, her voice, her confidence — but it had also given her Michael. The thought of losing him was almost too much to bear.

But she also knew that she couldn't let fear dictate her future. She had learned that at Blackwood — to face challenges head-on, to embrace change, and to trust in herself.
